Social Media Management at the trade show: how we structured live posting at Cosmoprof

Blog
At Cosmoprof, real-time engagement is at the heart of communication. In this context, we partnered with Takara Belmont Italy to provide social media management that integrated strategy, an editorial plan, and live content, transforming every moment at the booth into a cohesive and immediate narrative.

Managing social media communication during an international trade show means making quick decisions about what to post, when, and why, often with only a few minutes to spare. At Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2026, working alongside Takara Belmont Italy, we built a system that allowed us to do exactly that: move quickly with a clear direction.

The result? We reached over 35,000 people in four days and saw a fourfold increase in followers compared to the average for that period.

The method: a daily editorial plan as a guide

At a trade show, the temptation is to post everything that happens, in the order it happens. The pace is fast, moments multiply, and a reactive approach seems like the right one.

We developed a structured editorial plan organized by day. Each day had a specific focus, designed to drive the overall narrative forward and prevent the live content from becoming scattered.

The plan served as an operational guide, allowing us to understand at all times what made sense to post and what didn’t.

Content was gathered directly at the booth, selected and adapted in real time, quickly approved, and published at the most relevant moment.

When real-time really makes a difference

A concrete example. During the trade show, GLOBElife presented an award to Takara Belmont’s CEO, Hidetaka Yoshikawa. This was an unscheduled moment of great value for the brand.

Real-time publication significantly amplified the impact of the content, precisely because the rest of the communication had already established a coherent context around the booth.

What those managing a social media presence at a trade show take away

Structuring a social media presence for an event is an editorial process that begins before the trade show and requires three elements that must work together.

You need a clear narrative to develop day by day, consistent with the brand and the event’s objectives. You need an operational process that allows you to move quickly from content gathering to publication without sacrificing quality, and finally, you need the ability to adapt.

When these three elements work together, communication at the trade show ceases to be a problem and becomes a strategic tool.
